Smart Timetable Builder

Drag-and-Drop Scheduling with Conflict Detection & Room Allocation

Build timetables in minutes, not hours. Our intelligent scheduling engine handles conflict detection, room allocation, teacher availability, and automatic period distribution — so your timetable is always optimized and error-free.

Visual Drag-and-Drop Builder

The timetable interface presents a familiar grid layout — days of the week across columns, time periods down rows — with color-coded subjects and teacher assignments. Administrators and academic coordinators can drag subjects into time slots, swap periods between days, and reassign teachers with simple drag operations. Every change is validated in real-time against the conflict engine, providing instant visual feedback (green for valid, red for conflicts).

The builder supports multiple views: by Class (see all subjects for Class 5A across the week), by Teacher (see Teacher Ahmed's schedule across all classes), and by Room (see room utilization for each period). Switching views is instantaneous, and changes made in one view are reflected across all others automatically.

Intelligent Conflict Detection

The conflict engine checks for seven types of scheduling conflicts: teacher double-booking (same teacher assigned to two classes at the same time), room double-booking, teacher unavailability (marked leave or personal time), subject hour limits (minimum and maximum hours per week per subject), consecutive period limits (preventing 4 math periods in a row), lunch break protection, and lab/room equipment requirements.

When a conflict is detected, the system highlights the conflicting cells in red and displays a tooltip explaining the exact conflict — "Teacher Ahmed is assigned to Class 6B during this period" — so administrators can resolve it immediately. The engine also suggests alternative available slots, making conflict resolution fast and intuitive.

Automated Scheduling Suggestions

For new academies or those restructuring their timetable, the auto-scheduler can generate a complete timetable automatically based on your constraints: subject hours per class, teacher assignments, room availability, and preferred time slots for specific subjects. The algorithm optimizes for teacher workload distribution, room utilization, and minimizing gaps in student schedules.

The auto-generated timetable is always presented as a draft that administrators can review and manually adjust. You can lock specific periods (the principal's assembly time, for example) and regenerate the rest. The system also handles term transitions seamlessly — copy last term's timetable as a starting point and adjust for the new term's teacher and room changes.
